We Love RVA

While we shop the world for our wide assortment of furniture & accessories, our home is in Richmond, Virginia — and we’re quite proud of that distinction.

Libby Hill, across the river from our showroom, has the view where Richmond earned its name about 300 years ago. Looking at the James River flowing languidly towards the Chesapeake, aristocrat and landowner William Byrd II remarked that it reminded him of view of Richmond upon Thames in England. A short walk from Libby Hill will find you in front of St. John’s Church, where Patrick Henry famously demanded, “Give me Liberty or Give me Death!”

Further west, in Shockoe Valley, the site of Lumpkins Jail and the Reconciliation Statue serve as powerful and sad reminders of Richmond’s role during the slave trade. This history became ever more poignant and earned national attention in 2020 and 2021 when the statues erected to “heroes” of the fallen Confederate army were removed from Monument Avenue.

From there, heading south on Arthur Ashe Boulevard, you will find quick drive will take you to the galleries of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (or VMFA) and the Virginia Museum of History and Culture where you will find nationally acclaimed collections of art and Virginia history.

We could go on for paragraphs, but, instead, we will encourage you to do a bit of searching on your own… or ask a LaDiffer for their personal favorites! Richmond is a town full of parks, historic sites, art, theater & culture, and an amazing food scene, and we are so proud to be a part of it.
